Ram Metser, CEO
Ram is responsible for overall strategy execution. He brings over 25 years of leadership and successful company building experience to ScaleBase. Most recently he served as vice president at IBM’s Information Management division, where he led the database security, data governance and optimization product groups. Previously, as President & CEO of Guardium, Inc. he led the company from its initial start-up phase to a market dominance position, and its acquisition by IBM. Prior to Guardium, Ram was vice president and general manager of Nokia Intelligent Applications. He was also the co-founder & CEO of Telekol Corporation. Under his leadership, Telekol developed into a leading supplier of enterprise class unified communications software and was acquired by Nokia.
Ram also serves as a director and advisor on corporate boards, and is a past member of the Board of Trustees of the Solomon Schechter Day School of greater Boston. He holds both a BA and MBA from the University of Massachusetts.
Doron Levari, Founder and CTO
A long-time veteran of the database industry, Doron has extensive experience in building and scaling-out database systems as well as the organizations and infrastructure necessary to support them. Prior to founding ScaleBase, Doron help build from the ground-floor Aluna, Ltd. which eventually became one of Israel’s most successful consulting firms specializing in database design and implementation. Doron led Aluna from its early stages throughout consistent growth, leading towards a successful acquisition by Matrix, Israel’s largest system integrator.
Doron brings over 15 years of experience and leadership in IT, during this time, he has received multiple international awards and certifications, and is an esteemed lecturer, speaking around the globe.
Doron began his career much earlier as a DBA and System Administrator and led complex projects and large scale IT teams for some of Israel’s largest organizations, including the training and instruction of database systems for the Israeli Defense Forces. Doron holds a BS from Bar Ilan University and a MBA from Heriot Watt University.

Razi Sharir, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Strategy
Razi is responsible for ScaleBase’s worldwide business development strategy and execution. Razi brings over 20 years of experience with innovation and software development from concept to delivery; featuring Enterprise, Telco and Cloud. Most recently Razi was CEO of Xeround, a Cloud DBaaS company. Prior to that he held several senior positions at Ingrid Networks, BMC Software, E-base, Starhome, Commtouch software and MicroSoft.
Razi holds an MA from Tel Aviv University, an MBA from the City University of Seattle and a BA from The Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
Paul Campaniello, Vice President of Global Marketing
Paul is responsible for ScaleBase’s worldwide marketing strategy, execution and sales support. Paul brings 25 years of experience with software startup companies to ScaleBase. Paul has held several senior marketing and sales positions including VP of Marketing at Mendix, Lumigent, ESI, ComBrio and Savantis. Prior to Savantis, he was at Precise Software, where he helped build Precise from a private, venture-backed startup to a public company with $80 million in revenue in just four years, prior to its sale to Veritas for $600 million.
Paul holds both a BS and a MBA from Bentley University. When not obsessing over marketing strategy and execution, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children.
Rob Levine, Vice President of Worldwide Sales
Rob leads the world-wide sales strategy and execution for Scalebase. Prior to Scalebase, he was highly involved in the integration and adoption of SANscreen into NetApp’s Storage Management Business Unit following the highly successful acquisition of Boston-based software company Onaro. Rob joined Onaro and helped lead the organization from stealth to market dominance, building relationships first with early-adopters and then through year-over-year customer acquisition and revenue growth.
Rob leverages deep experience in customer-centric application sales and channel development, specializing in early-stage strategies as he held sales and sales leadership positions with first-to-market enterprise software companies Onaro(acquired by NetApp), RIghtPoint (acquired by E.piphany), Xchange Applications (IPO), FourGen (acquired by Gillani), and Zilliant. Rob began his pursuits in the software industry consulting for industry trailblazer and stalwart McCormack & Dodge (D&B Software). Rob holds a BS in both Accountancy and Management from Bentley University and resides in Swampscott, MA with his wife, daughter and son.
Michael Castricone, Vice President of Finance and Operations
Mike is responsible for ScaleBase’s financial and business operations. He brings 25 years of financial and administrative experience in the technology industry to ScaleBase. Mike has held several senior financial positions including vice president of finance and administration at IBM where he joined as a result of IBM’s successful acquisition of Guardium. While there he was responsible for financial operations, IT and human resources. Prior to the acquisition Mike was the CFO of Guardium for over 7 years.
Prior to that, he served as a controller in Nokia Networks via the acquisition of Telekol Corporation, where he also served as controller. Mike holds a BS in Interdisciplinary Mathematics from the University of New Hampshire and a MS in Accountancy from Bentley University. He is a licensed CPA in Massachusetts.
Victoria Dudin, Director of Engineering
Victoria is responsible for ScaleBase’s overall product development execution. She brings over 15 years of product development experience in the software industry to ScaleBase. Prior to joining ScaleBase, Victoria held several senior positions at Comverse, where she was responsible for managing a 24/7 R&D team and driving the delivery of new and revised products.
Victoria holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts and a MS in Computer Science from Harvard University.
