ScaleBase Releases Version 2.0 of its MySQL Database Scalability Software

12 Feb 2013 / 0 Comments / in Company News, News, Press Releases/by Paul Campaniello

New Version of Data Traffic Manager Supports Infinite Application Scalability, a Sleek New Look and Easier-than-Ever Deployment

BOSTON – February 12, 2013 — ScaleBase, the company that keeps next gen apps and business-critical databases up-and-running, just released Data Traffic Manager 2.0.  It’s the only database scalability software that solves the three biggest challenges next-gen apps face when it comes to increased adoption: scalability, availability and centralized management – by providing scale out through advanced read/write splitting or data distribution in a single solution.  The result: the ability to scale to an infinite number of users and increase performance without requiring any changes to your existing MySQL infrastructure.

This major upgrade comes with a new, user-friendly interface, and gives app providers the most mature and robust way to virtualize their databases, with unmatched ability to:

  • Simultaneously scale multiple applications and databases in a public or private cloud, dramatically reducing the cost and complexity of a distributed environment – something no other database scalability solution offers.
  • Centrally manage and analyze complex, distributed database environments – detailing the operational health and utilization though a new web-based console.
  • Support replicated databases across geographical boundaries, with location-independent load balancing and failover – a business continuity must have.
  • Speed database queries and performance, with advanced read/write splitting, increased throughput and better resource allocation.

“The enhancements in the new version are in direct response to what our customers and prospects are asking for: support for multiple apps, a more intuitive interface and easier deployment,” said Doron Levari, CTO and founder of ScaleBase. “We’re committed to giving app developers and DBAs everything they need to stay focused on app innovation, without having to worry about changing their infrastructure to scale out their apps.”

ScaleBase backs some of the fastest growing databases – including those used by the world’s largest chip manufacturer, one of the world’s largest and most widely respected manufacturers of smart phones and telecommunications hardware and software, and Mozilla, well-known for its Firefox browser.

Database Scalability & Availability: Critical to App Adoption
Next-gen app providers worldwide — including big names like Google, Amazon and Pinterest — are investing massive resources to ensure availability. Outages frustrate users, erode customer confidence and put revenue at risk.  ScaleBase automates failover, eliminating the risk of downtime; automatically detecting database outages and transparently failing over to backup instances – ensuring application availability.

ScaleBase’s Data Traffic Manager 2.0 is faster and easier to evaluate and deploy – and its new user interface gives app developers and DBAs instant access to the critical information they need, all while increasing overall database performance.  With ScaleBase, next-gen apps can scale out cost effectively, to an infinite number of users.

To learn more about scale-out strategies for MySQL databases, join ScaleBase for a joint webinar with 451 Research on February 28, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. EST. ScaleBase CTO Doron Levari will also discuss the new, key features of version 2.0.
